Champlain Orthodontics is your trusted expert straightening smiles for patients of all ages in Burlington, Essex, St. Albans, Williston, and surrounding communities. For teens and adults who want the same results traditional braces provide, but with more freedom and flexibility, Invisalign could be the answer!
What are the benefits of choosing Burlington Invisalign treatment?
Besides being almost completely invisible, one of the biggest benefits of Invisalign aligners is their removability. You’ll remove the Invisalign aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water, so you don’t have to worry about food restrictions or breaking wires or brackets. You’ll also remove the aligners before brushing and flossing, so it’s easier to maintain a good oral hygiene routine. Keeping your teeth clean and healthy is especially important when you’re having orthodontic treatment.
Since you can remove your aligners, you don’t have to worry about any food restrictions. This is a big deal since food restrictions are often the biggest learning curve with traditional braces. With Invisalign, you can eat all of your favorite foods while working on your straighter smile. To avoid staining, remove the aligners when eating and drinking and rinse the aligners
With Invisalign aligners, there are no pesky wires to poke out and irritate your mouth, and there aren’t any adjustment appointments, either. We still expect Invisalign wearers to attend follow-up visits about every 6-8 weeks so that Dr. Ryan and Dr. Eaton can be sure that your teeth are making the progress as planned.
How does the Burlington Invisalign system work?
The Invisalign system is straightforward. You’ll wear each aligner for about two weeks, and should only be removed to eat, drink, brush, or floss. As you replace the aligners with the next one in the series, your teeth will move gradually, until they reach their new positions.
During your visits with Champlain Orthodontics, we will check to ensure treatment is progressing as planned. You must change the aligners on time and wear them as directed. This is the most important part of the success of your smile with Burlington Invisalign. Your trays will be custom designed to fit your unique dental needs. You’ll change them often to keep up with the shifting of the teeth as they straighten. Not changing aligners as scheduled or skipping your appointments can quickly undo any progress that we have made.
Keep in mind that every patient will respond to orthodontic treatment differently. Since Invisalign works in a slightly different and less invasive way than braces to straighten your teeth, it’s hard to say for sure how long each patient will have to wear their aligners before they see significant results. The average is somewhere between 6 and 18 months, this can differ from case to case.
We estimate the average treatment time based on how well you follow your Dr. Ryan and Dr. Eaton’s guidelines. This means wearing aligners for at least 20-22 hours every single day throughout your entire treatment. Straying from this schedule even slightly can add extra time to the process. Invisalign can only work if you commit to the program.
