Why a Williston Orthodontist? Orthodontist vs. Dentist

An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, but not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Dr. Eaton continued her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Eaton has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.

Why does it matter if you see your Williston Orthodontist?

Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.

Seeing a specialist like an orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:

  • Providing more treatment options.
  • Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office’s focus area of care.
  • Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
  • Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns
  • Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.

While you may think it’s easier to have your orthodontics work completed by your dentist, it’s still convenient to visit your Williston orthodontic offices because you’ll only need to come in every six to eight weeks.

And don’t let price be a problem either! Champlain Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the Williston area.

Testimonials from our patients

Champlain Orthodontics is the best!! We love everyone at this office, from the front desk staff to the Dr.s.  We are always greeted with smiles! Always impressed with their use of new technology and latest advancements in orthodontics; like Invisalign Teen and Damon Braces vs just offering traditional braces. We've used them for me- an adult that had Invisalign at age 34 and for our teens. We love them! I highly recommend checking them out! We've sent lots of friends their way and will continue to do so! - Melissa Brott

As an adult orthodontic patient, Dr. Eaton and the whole team at Champlain Orthodontics helped me to get my smile back.  They were not only interested in the changes that were happening to my teeth but also what has happened in my life. After two years of treatment, I was actually sad that I would not be seeing them every six weeks.  I have made several recommendations to family and friends to Champlain Ortho. My teeth are beautiful - thank you Dr. Eaton and everyone at Champlain Ortho. - Kathie
