These clear retainers are customized to your bite so they fit comfortably. At first, you will wear them for most of the day and night. Eventually, you will shift to only wearing them while you sleep, making it an easy and convenient way to protect your healthy smile.
Hawley Retainers
These are your traditional, classic retainers, made with a simple wire and a durable base. Hawley retainers are reliable and last a long time. They can be easily tweaked if your teeth need a tiny shift down the road.
Fixed (Bonded) Permanent Retainers
Fixed retainers are small, smooth wires bonded securely to the back of your front teeth. Because they are fixed to your mouth all the time, you never have to worry about losing them or forgetting to put them in. They are completely out of sight and keep your teeth comfortably in place.
Simple Retainer Repair and Protection Plans
We know accidents happen. To keep your smile safe, our patients receive 1 full year of complimentary retainer repairs. Affiliated doctors at Champlain Orthodontics also offer a special Lifetime Retainer Program that provides stress-free replacements.

The best orthodontist practice in northern Vermont! Dr. Ryan and his staff have put braces on all three of my sons and myself. I had a cross bite that had never been fixed when I had braces as a teenager. Dr. Ryan felt confident that he could fix my cross bite and straighten my teeth without having to have surgery on my jaw. Over a two year time period, he successfully corrected my bite and gave me a beautiful smile too. I no longer had headaches, stopped snoring and had less neck tension once my bite was corrected.Champlain Orthodontics was also extremely accommodating when my family recently lived abroad and my youngest son was in the middle of wearing braces. They were able to switch my son to Invisalign-like retainers to finish the last two months of my son’s braces so that he wouldn’t have to fly home just for an adjustment.I can’t say enough about the professionalism and kindness of the entire practice. I highly recommend them for anyone needing orthodontic care.

How long do I need to wear my retainer?
Your teeth naturally want to shift over time. To keep them straight, you will need to wear your retainer as directed by your provider. For clear styles, you will start by wearing them throughout the day and night before moving to nights only. Permanent retainers stay in continuously to keep your bite in place.
What should I do if I lose or break my retainer?
Just reach out to our friendly team at Champlain Orthodontics right away. We will have you come in for a quick visit to take a scan and craft a new one. If you are on our Lifetime Retainers Program, you can get replacements so your smile stays beautiful and your budget stays steady.
